New Fic LJ

You're probably going to wonder what the point of this is, since I haven't written anything (that anyone much has seen) for so long.  Buuuut, I have a new LJ for my fanfic: [livejournal.com profile] soulstarsinger.  This is to replace the old one because I wanted to change the journal name, but wasn't going to pay to transfer it over since it's a free account in the first place.

I've also revamped my fic site, so it now uses eFiction.  Um, because I wanted to.  I'm sure it's not remotely more practical in the long run or anything.  But it's fun to play with. :-)  Anyway, it has a new design as well.  Shiny.  Well, sort of.

So there you have it: new lj, new site design, and new fic to come.  In fact, I should probably post the one fic that I have finished in the last year or so.  Yeah, I'll do that.

Ooh, I like the new design! Very pretty. The color scheme is lovely!
And yay for the new fic LJ! *smooches*

Wheeeee, I'm glad you like it. The colour scheme was actually the default one for the skin I used as the base, but it was exactly what I'd been planning to have, so I kept it. I've got a thing for green at the moment. *g*

Now all I need is to finish some fic to put *in* the new LJ. And you know how well that's going. I should probably work on the preview fic, come to think of it.... :-)

Love LOVE the design!

Plus, I did a jumping up and down squee when I saw Life on Mars! Have been trying desperately to explain its appeal to Lar and been failing beyond, 'uh, well he may be in a coma or may be in the seventies, or possibly both and plus, whee, the possibilities'.

So, yeah.

Love it.

Hee, thank you!

Life on Mars is awesome. I've been pimping it out to everyone I possibly can. In fact, I have the first ep uploaded if you'd like the link for Lar. It kicked started my fic writing again, too, and now I'm part way through what's turned into the longest thing I've done. Meep! But so much fun! :-)

Whee! Yes yes YES! Oh please can I have the link because she NEEDS to see this. It's been absolutely useless me trying to explain because it's the first series I've seen in a long long while that actually made my belly flip over. Just the swell of music in the first ep where he goes from one place to the other - it was perfect.

Can't wait to read the fic. I haven't written in so long I don't even know if I still could. But yay, can't wait to read.

Hee, of course you can! It's here. I'll be uploading the next couple of eps soonish, too, so let me know if she'd like to grab those as well and I'll tell you when they're up.

It is impossible to describe it properly, isn't it? The first ep really freaked me out the first time I saw it because I hadn't read any spoilers and didn't know about the car accident. But it's soooooo well done! And I could fangirl on about it forever, so I'll shut up now ;-)

I haven't written in so long I don't even know if I still could.
I didn't think I could any more, either, so I bet you will be able to when inspiration turns up.

But yay, can't wait to read.
Yay, thank you! :-D It might be a while til it's done, mind you - it's starting to border on a bit of an epic *g*. It's set over three months.... so far I've written about a quarter of it, if that. I have got a shorter one as well, though, so I expect that'll be done first. Whee :-)

You're an absolute saint. Am jumping up and down as we speak and telling Lar to get there and watch so she can understand the fangril squee!

I hadn't been spoiled either so it was a major OMG moment when I watched it. I swear, no other series, (bar Lost S1 with the end of ep. Locke revelation) has made me want to grab people and point at the TV and say 'Did you see that?'

Fangirl all you like, hon, I'm right there with you and panting in anticipation of epic fic!

Hoorah! I'm sure she'll love it - how could she not?

It was a real gut-kick. Like I said, it freaked me out badly the first time (because of what happened to my Dad last year), but even on watching it again, it's an OMG every time. I do hope they can keep up this level of writing for next year, because Lost had me on the edge of my seat last year, but S2 has been sending me to sleep recently!

Epic fic is Sam/Gene, of course. OTP!

Haven't seen S2 yet, (it's driving Lar crazy with the spoiler issue - she won't spoil me and I stick my fingers in my ears) but I hope that LoM keeps up the standard. It just kicks serious ass!

Oh Sam/Gene just throw out vibes all over the place. Keeps making me giggle that you'd have to step carefully over all the chest beating to even get close!

I have the Lost S2 eps downloaded, so if you want discs, just shout :-)

Sam/Gene kind of reminds me of Spike/Angel, especially in AtS season 5. *g*

Oh God yes, it's all that manly posturing. I swear I was watching them get so puffed up when they're all up close and growling about who's right about how to investigate each case I was worried we were going to run out of screen!

Plus, the ep where Sam gets tied up? So pretty. And Gene's expression - absolutely priceless.

Yes, and the way that Sam's always all "I'm in charge", and Gene is "Er, no you're not!". Never mind the constant physical contact. *fans self*

the ep where Sam gets tied up? So pretty.
Oh, wasn't it? One of my favourite quotes was in that ep, too, when Sam answered the door to Gene later on and says (approximately) "I'm not handcuffed naked to the bed this time. Sorry to disappoint." *vbg*

Oh God yes. I was giggling like a crazy person when I heard that. Especially because Gene did look dissappointed.

Plus, your icon - So damn manly.

You so do not! There're never enough Life on Mars icons.

*trots off to look at screencaps to make some*

Well, that's true. I thought 30+ would be my limit, but now LJ have given me some of those loyalty userpics, so I have more spaces. Hmmm, what shall I fill them with?

(Do you have screencaps? There are lots for each ep posted on [livejournal.com profile] lifein1973, if not.)

Oh God yes, I know that feeling. It's part of my new resolve - am doing my best to stay zen and out of clutter and answer things I know I should! It's working quite well at the moment and I've decided to be non lurky again, so yes, much with the answering promptly.

Zen sounds good! I've been doing my best to de-clutter my web stuff, and again, having done that has made me feel able stop lurking too. Now, if only I could achieve the same results with the state of the house.... ;-)

Oh God, yes, tell me about it. I'm working on de-cluttering web stuff. Or rather re-inventing web stuff, (since the front page to DF announces I'm turning thirty and well, that was two years ago) and working on the rest of it.

Although, I've got kids who've finally understood that I will pay them to clean bits. It's not perfect but it does assuage my laziness!

Oh, yes. I've just updated The Airlock, which was telling the world that I'm 27. I was 30 in October *g*. I haven't touched S&S for possibly even longer. But then, I get to poke code for money these days, so updating my own web stuff has started feeling like work. Oh noes!

Yay for your kids! Wish I could train the cat, but according to him, he's the one that gets waited on. Naturally.

Well I get paid to teach other people how to use software these days. I'm sure there are more frustrating jobs, but it requires zen not to strangle someone who will insist that keyboard shortcuts are too darn technical.

I like cats, (good job considering how many Lar has) but we have fish. They're even less good with a duster but on the plus side I don't have to walk them.

Wow. Your powers of zen must be mighty indeed! :-)

My cat isn't acquainted with the duster, but he does apparently harbour an ambition to be a chimney sweep. Every now and again, he makes a break for it and has to be hauled down by the tail...
