TV no moooooore :-(

Well feck!  My TV just went dead.  "Phhhhuttt!" it said, and just.... stopped.  The screen went blank and the little red light disappeared.  Which, hmmm...  could that be the fuse in the plug?  Or is the whole thing just knackered?  It's been on the way out for a while - the picture has been bizarrely too wide for the screen (so what I've been watching is cut off at each side).  And it was flickering horribly before that.  Gah.

I can't afford a new telly.  And I can't sponge borrow some cash off the mother: she's gone on holiday.  Where can I borrow one until I can afford to replace the dead one, I wonder?  I've got to watch Dalziel and Pascoe tomorrow!  It's vital to my life!!!!!!!  [/melodrama]

Oh noes! Evil TV! It could be the plug or something... I hope it can be fixed. Can you maybe go over to Martin's or Ally's to watch tonight?

I changed the fuse in the plug, but nope, no change. And there is some power getting through the cable, because there's a faint whine coming from the speakers when you hit the On button. Just no TV pic or sound, or LED light.

Unfortunately I can't get anywhere tonight: Martin and Ally are both out, and I can't go over to Mum's on my own because there aren't any buses on a Sunday. Bah :-( Still, never mind: I'll listen to the radio or some music and knit. Or hang out online. M is going to tape Dalziel and Pascoe for me, and it turns out he still has his portable 14" TV still, so he's going to find it and bring it over for me in the next couple of days. So that'll see me through til I can afford to get a new one. Yay!

It does. *sigh* I hope M can bring the portable round sooooon! Like, before Holby Blue tomorrow, eep. However, I'm going to look on the bright side: shiny new TV in the future! And I think M's portable was pretty decent, so it'll do for the time being. Plus, it won't be as heavy to move around when I rearrange my furniture!! ;-)
