All change (again)

Well, today the Letting Agents came round with a family who wanted to view this flat with a view to renting it once I'm moved into my new one... and they decided to take it. They seem nice - it's a couple who are around my age, maybe a little bit younger, with a daughter of about 3 or 4, and a baby (which I think was a girl, but... baby. Erm.). Considering this is a three-bed maisonette, that should be good all round: plenty of room for them, and for my part, it means I won't get a larger family with older, louder kids (why yes, I am thinking of the people who used to live here!) crashing about, living directly above me.
Having spoken to the builders, and checked out the new flat, it looks like my moving date will be December 18th. I've given John the Housing Advice Bloke a call so we can get the moving dudes booked. This whole moving saga has alternately had me all fired up and organised, or utterly squished. Recently I've been feeling squished, but we're coming into the home straight now, so happily I'm feeling more positive and determined to get it done again. My new flat only needs decorating type things done to it now, for the most part. Well, that, and to have an electricity supply (!), phone point and TV aeriel point installed, and the carpets put down. Oh right, and a shower curtain put up and the shower head attached to the wall - there's been a lot of to-ing and fro-ing about all that as well*, but I'm flat-out refusing to move unless there's a working wall-mounted shower in the place, so there!
I've also got to remember to speak to the Letting Agents about the fact that the bathroom window - which is pretty tall - is clear glass. Since they managed to put a 'frosted' glass one in the loo in this flat, I'm assuming someone cocked up, probably due to the fact that the bathroom and bedroom were originally one room, so you have 2/3 of the bay window in the bedroom and the other 1/3 in the bathroom. So, yeah, I want to find out if they're going to do anything about that. You can get plastic... stuff that you can stick onto windows to *make* them into bathroom-type windows, can't you? Or is it hideous tacky crap that'll start peeling after a week? Anybody know?
I'd better mention the phone and TV point thing to the Letting Agent as well, just in case the builders don't get around to it. The sooner it's done, the better, because I want to make sure transferring my phoneline and broadband and everything over is as painless as humanly possible. In fact, that applies to the whole moving thing. Well, I remain vaguely optimistic. Sort of ;-)
God, I'm tired. I think I'll call it a night. (It's a night! Oh dear. Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.) I'm going to see the new Bond film with the bro tomorrow afternoon. Which should be fun! :-) But only if I wake up in time. So yes, bed for me. Good night!
* 1. There will be a shower just like in the maisonette, wall mounted with a upvc (or whatever it is) shower-screen.
2. Oh, er, no there won't, there will just be a shower head that attaches to the taps, we can't mount it on the wall because the bath is only against a wall on it's long side. (Me: then I'm moving out somewhere else entirely, bye!)
3. OK, maybe we can put up two shower screens, one behind the taps, one along the other long side, and mount the shower head on the side wall.
4. Yes, no problem, that's what we've done! The landlord arranged the extra funds.
5. Oh no we haven't. The landlord wouldn't cough up after all. But we're going to put up a shower curtain! (Me: Fine, whatever, as long as the shower is on the damn wall and there's something there to stop water going all over the floor. But I'm going to keep checking to make sure it really gets done, cos that shower head isn't up yet. Not that I'm paranoid or owt.)
